Massage Therapy

The practice of massage therapy is the assessment of soft tissue and joints within  the body and treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissue and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function, or relieve pain.

When you are visiting a massage therapist for the first time, your therapist will perform a series of  Postural, Orthopedic and  Neurological assessments in order to  recommend a safe and effective treatment plan for your injury or physical dysfunction.

Soft Tissue Release:

Soft Tissue Release (STR) is a dynamic, highly effective technique that has an immediate and powerful effect on muscle and connective tissues. STR is a combination of Myofascial Release, Therapeutic Massage, and Active Assisted Stretching. The technique involves applying precise pressure during a specific stretch performed in multiple planes of movement. The goal is to appeal to the autonomic nervous system in a way that leads to spontaneous release of the injured muscle, the result: fast and permanent reorganization of scar tissue, the targeted muscle(s) return to the proper resting length, muscle imbalances are corrected and the associated pain is thus decreased or eliminated altogether, and muscle performance is improved. Results are often obtained quickly and permanently. softtissuerelease.ca
